Key Responsibilities of the Senior Project Accountant Manage project accounting activities, including billing, cost tracking, revenue recognition, and financial reporting. Analyze and validate large volumes of project and billing data to ensure accuracy and completeness. Prepare and review reconciliations, forecasts, project financials, and month-end accounting activities. Partner closely with operations, project management, and accounting teams to resolve issues and drive project performance. Develop and enhance reporting tools, workflows, and processes to improve efficiency and data integrity. Identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for process improvements through detailed financial analysis. Support audits, compliance requirements, and management reporting requests. Qualifications pf the Senior Project Accountant Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred. 5+ years of accounting experience with exposure to project accounting, construction accounting, manufacturing, engineering services, or similar project-based industries. Advanced Excel skills required, including complex formulas, lookups, data validation, and large dataset analysis. Experience with project billing, job costing, WIP reporting, or project financial management strongly preferred. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on accuracy and process improvement. Excellent communication skills and the confidence to collaborate with stakeholders across multiple departments.
