The individual will play a critical role in managing the financial health of our manufacturing operations, providing strategic input on financial decisions, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records. Responsibilities:
As a Plant Accountant, your primary responsibilities will include: 1. Overseeing the manufacturing accounting processes, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded in accordance with GAAP and company policies. 2. Performing monthly and year-end close procedures, including the preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports. 3. Developing and managing the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads and senior management to establish financial targets and monitor performance. 4. Conducting regular financial analysis, identifying trends and variances, and providing insightful recommendations to enhance profitability and operational efficiency. 5. Collaborating with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards. 6. Leading continuous improvement initiatives within the accounting department, implementing new processes and systems to improve efficiency and accuracy. 7. Providing financial guidance and support to the manufacturing team, helping them understand the financial implications of their decisions and actions.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need: 1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. An advanced degree or CPA certification is highly desirable. 2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing accounting, with a strong understanding of cost accounting principles and practices. 3. Proven experience in performing account reconciliations, preparing annual budgets, and managing year-end close processes. 4. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze complex financial data and provide meaningful insights. 5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial audiences. 6. Proficiency in using accounting software and advanced knowledge of Excel. 7. A high level of integrity and reliability, with the ability to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner.
