Senior Project & Corporate Accountant Compensation :
$100,000 - $110,000 + Discretionary Bonus Build More Than Financial Statements. Help Drive Business Decisions. A growing organization is seeking a Senior Project & Corporate Accountant to play a critical role in financial reporting, project accounting, operational analysis, and process improvement across multiple business units. This is not a transactional accounting position. The ideal candidate will serve as a technical accounting resource, provide financial insight to operational leaders, support project profitability, and help strengthen the accounting function as the company continues to grow. The role offers direct interaction with executive leadership and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on business performance. Why This Opportunity Stands Out Highly visible role with exposure to executive leadership and operational decision-making Opportunity to help strengthen and elevate an accounting department during a period of growth Blend of technical accounting, project accounting, financial analysis, payroll, and process improvement Significant ownership and autonomy with the ability to influence accounting practices and procedures Opportunity to develop specialized expertise in construction and project-based accounting Stable, family-owned organization with a long-standing reputation for quality and strong leadership Collaborative culture that values accountability, initiative, and continuous improvement Strong benefits package including immediate 401(k) vesting and flexibility from leadership Key Responsibilities Own project accounting activities from project setup through closeout Monitor job costs, project profitability, billing activity, change orders, and project financial performance Manage customer billing, revenue recognition, retainage tracking, and related reporting Perform account reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, fixed asset accounting, and month-end close activities Process and reconcile payroll while ensuring labor costs are accurately recorded by project Analyze financial information and investigate variances, discrepancies, and operational trends Partner with project managers and operational leaders to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial decision-making Review accounting processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and controls What We're Looking For This opportunity is ideal for an experienced accountant who enjoys ownership, solving problems, and improving how accounting supports the business.
Successful candidates will bring:
Strong technical accounting and general ledger expertise The ability to work independently and solve problems without constant direction Experience interpreting financial results and communicating recommendations A process improvement mindset focused on efficiency and accuracy Confidence mentoring others and serving as a resource for the accounting team A proactive attitude with a willingness to take ownership of outcomes Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting required CPA preferred Strong experience with GAAP, account reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and financial reporting Experience with project accounting, job costing, and operational accounting environments WIP reporting experience strongly preferred Experience with AIA billing, retainage, and construction accounting concepts is highly desirable Payroll and labor costing experience preferred Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail Ideal Backgrounds We welcome candidates from: Construction Accounting Project Accounting Manufacturing Accounting Cost Accounting Corporate Accounting Commercial Construction General Contracting Industrial or Project-Based Businesses Who Will Succeed Here?
