Aegis Worldwide is partnered with a manufacturer in the Lafayette, IN area who is seeking a Cost Accountant who will ensure the costs of the company's products and services are assigned in line with internal policies and follow established financial accounting standards.Must Haves:
Bachelor's degree in accounting Accounting experience within a manufacturing environmentJob Responsibilities:
Evaluate changes in product design, materials, manufacturing processes, or services to assess customer and product margins. Review actual manufacturing costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production, using key cost drivers and metrics. Maintain and record cost data to support expense control. Analyze and reconcile the COGS ledger to ensure accurate month-end close. Conduct variance analysis, identify issues or opportunities, and communicate findings to operations management. Establish and maintain policies and procedures for cost accounting activities. Lead, coordinate, and oversee all cost accounting activities. Manage daily operations of the cost accounting function, including rate management, inventory, and monthly COGS close and analysis. Supervise ERP integrations, migrations, and system upgrades. Guide and coordinate the collection of standard cost rates. Oversee inventory forecasting and manage monthly and annual physical stock counts. Analyze and communicate the impact of rate changes on inventory.Similar remote jobs
