Hays, KS or Dodge City, KS High Plains Farm Credit, ACA The Farm Credit System is a unique entity, a network of nationally connected, locally owned financial cooperatives. Since 1916, Farm Credit has been devoted to agricultural financing and is the largest single provider of agricultural credit in the United States. High Plains Farm Credit is a member of the Farm Credit System and services $2.0+ billion of loans. High Plains Farm Credit's vision is to be the preferred source of agricultural financing. High Plains Farm Credit also serves as the administrator of the Farm Credit Capital Group, a consortium of 17 Farm Credit System entities ($25BN+ in combined assets) which focuses on purchasing senior secured debt in the corporate food/ag, energy infrastructure, and telecommunications sectors.
POSITION PURPOSE
High Plains Farm Credit is currently recruiting a Capital Markets - Loan Accountant to accurately execute the daily operations of the capital markets and participation department. The Capital Markets - Loan Accountant will facilitate workflow and processes throughout the Association and between lead lenders and purchasing partners to provide an exceptional customer experience at all levels.
JOB FUNCTIONS
Initiates and maintains communications and collaboration internally and among participants. Answers lead bank and sub-participant inquiries and resolve issues by applying standard processes and procedures. Establishes and completes the necessary actions for large and complex loans. Develops and maintains processes to monitor quality and accuracy of the Participation Loan Portfolio including analyzing reconciliation reports.
QUALIFYING CHARACTERISTICS
Associate's degree in accounting, business or relevant field preferred. 3+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or related office experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job. Strong analysis, problem solving communication, data review, and computer skills. Knowledge and experience with basic accounting skills.
