THE ROLE

We are seeking a meticulous and reliable Part-Time Accountant to assist in managing our financial records and ensuing compliance with accounting standards. In this role, you will be responsible for day-to-day bookkeeping, financial reporting, and maintaining the general ledger. This position is ideal for a professional looking for 20 hours per week with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.

Financial Record Keeping:

Assist the Senior Accountant in maintaining the general ledger and performing bank reconciliations.

Reporting:

Assist Senior Accountant with preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (Balance Sheets, P&L, Cash Flow).

Compliance:

Ensure all financial transactions comply with local regulations and GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).

Payroll & Taxes:

Assist the Senior Accountant with the preparation of sales/use tax filings or year-end 1099s.

Audit Support:

Provide documentation and support for year-end audits or tax preparation by external CPAs.

Process Improvement:

Identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows and improve data integrity.

THE ESSENTIALS

Bachelor's degree in Accounting required. CPA, CMA, or comparable certification preferred. Minimum of 2 years of experience in corporate or public Accounting. Strong command of Accounting Systems and advance Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables). An eagle eye for discrepancies and a commitment to data accuracy. Strong analytical, communication, and strategic thinking skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Level 2: Light Work Ability to occasionally stand, walk, change positions, handle (hold, grasp, seize, turn), finger (pinch/pick), balance, stoop (bend at waist), kneel, stairs, and use arm/hand. Ability to frequently sit for long periods of time, reach (extend hands/arm) to push/pull cabinet drawer/door, and crouch (bend legs/spine). Ability to read computer screen, type/enter data in computer, and operate basic office equipment and phones. Ability to lift/lower, carry, push/pull up to 20 pounds.
