In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing core accounting functions, ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and supporting the organization's financial health. Your expertise in various accounting software and financial concepts will help drive accurate reporting, efficient processes, and strategic decision-making. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills within a collaborative environment dedicated to excellence and continuous improvement. Responsibilities Perform general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account analysis, and account reconciliation to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data. Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely processing and adherence to company policies. Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and review financial statements to identify discrepancies or variances. Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including preparing financial reports and consolidations. Assist with payroll management using systems such as ADP, Paychex, or UltiPro, ensuring accurate payroll processing and compliance with tax regulations. Maintain compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls and assist in internal audits related to financial reporting. Utilize various accounting software tools such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, Kronos, Workday, or similar platforms to streamline accounting operations. Support budgeting, tax preparation, and financial analysis activities as needed to support organizational goals. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or pursuing CPA certification is a plus. Proven experience in corporate accounting or governmental accounting environments. Strong understanding of GAAP principles and technical accounting standards. Hands-on experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, or equivalent systems. Familiarity with payroll management systems like ADP or Paychex; experience with Kronos or UltiPro is advantageous. Knowledge of SOX compliance requirements and internal control procedures. Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy; proficiency in double-entry bookkeeping and 10-key typing is essential. Ability to analyze financial data critically and perform account analysis effectively. Strong mathematical skills coupled with a solid understanding of debits & credits, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliation processes.
