Staff Accountant
Job Description
- Responsible for general ledger account reconciliations as required by company procedures.
- Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
- Assist in the completion of month-end requirements.
- Prepares monthly accounting reports at management's request.
- Assists with external and internal audit requirements.
- Responsible for the processing of the weekly payrolls and all related activities, to include: monthly payroll journal entries.
- Processes supplemental payrolls, and any ad hoc payroll reporting, as needed. III . Other Job Duties
- Prepares general ledger account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
- Recommends financial actions by analyzing accounting options.
- Maintains financial security by following internal controls.
- Answers accounting questions from internal customers and departments by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations.
- Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.
- Backs-up both the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.
- Completes special projects and requests from management by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information.
- Participates in the monthly physical inventory count process.
- Other duties as required. IV. Education/Experience/Skills Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting ,is required.
- 2+ years' experience in general accounting is required.
- General accounting skills and knowledge in accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger and payroll, is required (UKG-formerly Kronos, a plus).
- Strong oral and written communication skills. Communicate effectively with employees and customers.
- Strong organizational, planning and multi-tasking skills.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond quickly to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to perform basic and more complicated mathematical fundamentals
- add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to use PC computers and have command of Microsoft software
- Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and others as needed
- including accounting systems. Use of company computer systems (as trained).
- Positive customer service and ability to work with others in a team setting.
- Understanding of the inner workings of the company and can answer questions asked by internal and external customers.
- Ability to apply logic in problem solving for both internal and external customers.
- Strong motivation and self-starting initiative is required.
- Strong problem-solving skills are essential.
- Ability to operate effectively in a time-sensitive environment in order to meet deadlines.
- Ability to be fair and ethical in all facets of the work environment.
Pay:
$55,000.00- $65,000.
