Staff Accountant

Staff Accountant Salina, KS Great Plains Manufacturing is seeking a dynamic Staff Accountant to join our team. This is an on-site role based in our Corporate office in Salina, KS.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Compile and analyze financial information for preparing and booking journal entries. Complete a variety of month-end closing tasks independently. Reconcile various general ledger accounts to ensure accurate and timely reporting; clear reconciling items within the following accounting period. Maintain and update standard monthly reports used by management. Provide support for requests from Kubota headquarters, and internal or external tax groups and audit teams. Research and apply the appropriate accounting treatment for new transactions. Support the CFO and Corporate Controller in providing information and analyses for various ad hoc requests. Collaborate with others in the department to support the accounting for international subsidiaries. Comply with data requests from government census and industry groups. Prepare sales and use tax reports and submit payments. Maintain compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and company policies and procedures. Follow all Great Plains and OSHA safety regulations and wear prescribed safety and protective equipment. Other duties may be assigned that require other qualifications, physical demands, and/or work environment.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance or similar field; plus 1-3 years experience in a similar accounting role helpful, but not required Proficient in MS Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint Focus on detail and accuracy Team player with strong verbal and written communication skills Excellent organizational skills and ability to stay on task with varying priorities Great Plains Manufacturing, headquartered in Salina, KS, is a proud subsidiary of the Kubota Corporation.
