Job Description

Position Overview The Senior Project Accountant plays a critical role in supporting the financial performance of project-based operations. Reporting to the Project Controller, this position is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of financial data across multiple projects. The role supports full-cycle project accounting, including billing, cost tracking, payroll coordination, and financial reporting. This individual will partner closely with project managers, operations teams, and leadership to provide financial insights, drive cost control, and support informed decision-making. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and proactive, with a strong understanding of project-based accounting in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Analyze project costs and provide insights to support strategic and operational decision-making Maintain and enhance cost control processes and systems across active projects Manage project billing activities, including preparation and submission of invoices and equipment billings Support accounts receivable and accounts payable functions related to project activity Process and reconcile billing submissions to ensure accuracy and completeness Assist with subcontract management, payroll coordination, and equipment time entry Prepare and deliver project financial reports to leadership, highlighting performance, risks, and opportunities Partner with project teams to ensure financial data accuracy, compliance, and alignment with contract terms Support month-end close processes, including reconciliations and financial analysis Qualifications 5+ years of experience in project accounting or a related role Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required Experience in construction, telecommunications, or similar project-based industries preferred Familiarity with ERP systems such as JD Edwards or similar platforms Strong understanding of project-based and construction accounting principles Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel What We're Looking For Detail-oriented professional with strong organizational skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement Strong business acumen and ability to translate financial data into actionable insights
Pay:
$85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
