m. Snelling Staffing is partnering with a well-established feed and seed manufacturing company to hire an experienced Cost Accountant. This position plays a critical role in analyzing manufacturing costs, supporting operational decision-making, improving efficiencies, and ensuring accurate financial reporting within a fast-paced production environment. The ideal candidate will have strong manufacturing accounting experience, advanced analytical skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally with operations, inventory, and leadership teams. Key Responsibilities Analyze and maintain standard costing for materials, labor, and overhead. Monitor manufacturing costs and identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost reduction. Prepare detailed cost analysis reports, forecasts, and financial summaries for leadership. Perform inventory analysis, cycle counts, reconciliations, and physical inventory oversight. Lead variance analysis between actual and standard costs and provide actionable recommendations. Partner with production and operations teams to improve efficiencies and strengthen cost controls. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and month-end/year-end close activities. Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and support audit requests. Ensure accuracy of inventory valuation and manufacturing accounting processes. Support continuous improvement initiatives related to accounting systems, reporting, and internal controls. Utilize ERP systems and Excel-based reporting tools to streamline accounting functions and reporting. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. 3-5+ years of accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, inventory accounting, and variance analysis. Experience with ERP systems; Acumatica experience is a plus. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required. CMA or CPA certification, or progress toward certification, is preferred. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to communicate effectively with both accounting and operational teams.
