Full Job Description Overview:
•This position is for the Kentucky Farm Bureau Federation• This position will oversee the recording of financial transactions into a computer-based accounting system for Kentucky Farm Bureau Federation and its related entities and will manage the interface of the Human Resources function with Accounting and Finance. Assists in the preparation of interim and consolidated financial statements, regulatory filings, including tax returns, and various reports for management. Will also develop and document new procedures and processes related to new software functionalities, operational developments, accounting changes, and internal control refinement.
Responsibilities:
Perform all financial transaction entry types in all sub-ledgers and modules of the financial accounting software. Oversee transaction entry by the Accounting Associate and the Administrative Assistant staff. Manage posting of all sub-ledgers to the general ledger and perform reconciliations of sub-ledgers and various other accounts. Prepare monthly accrual and adjustment journal entries. Maintain proficiency and fluency with all financial accounting functions so as to be prepared to back up as needed. Manage the interface of the Human Resources function with
Accounting and Finance:
Administer payroll and benefits, including oversight of biweekly payroll, conducting open enrollment annually, preparation of benefit censuses, etc. Maintain benefit plan documentation and compliance. Assist in annual compensation actions (merit increases, bonus, etc), in the development of the compensation and benefits budget, and in the development of required HR systems. Regular, predictable attendance. This list of essential functions is non-exhaustive and may be supplemented as necessary. Other Responsibilities Provide External Auditors with a Client Assistance Package and answer questions. Timely preparation and distribution of reports. Perform activity-based cost analysis of ticketed events, conferences, and tours. Drafting of monthly financial statements and documentation of variance analyses. Implement process improvements and/or streamline processes through automation. Continuously review procedures and processes to ensure and implement strong internal controls. Preparation of regulatory filings, including 1099's, sales tax returns, etc. Answer telephone inquiries courteously and efficiently. Special projects and other tasks, as assigned.
Job Specifications Physical demands:

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required; CPA preferred. Minimum of three years' experience in corporate or public accounting. Experience in financial statement analysis, budget variance investigation, and full-cycle accounting. Experience in payroll processing, employee file maintenance, and benefit administration. Experience in problem solving and process development. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Mastery of basic math and accounting principles. Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and database software. Experience with financial accounting software, Blackbaud's Financial Edge preferred. Experience with payroll, HRIS, or total solution software. Ability to work well with others, both inside and outside the organization. Ability to work under minimal supervision.
