Staff Accountant - Payroll & HR Solid Ground Consulting Engineers, PLLC - 4.0 Richmond, KY Job Details Full-time 2 days ago Benefits Paid holidays Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Vision insurance Qualifications Teamwork Administrative experience QuickBooks Organizational skills Associate's degree Full Job Description We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable professional to join our team in an entry-level accounting and administrative role focused on Accounts Payable, payroll, and HR support functions. This position is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career professional looking to gain hands-on experience in accounting, payroll, and human resources within a growing company. The role is responsible for assisting with invoice processing, payroll administration, employee onboarding/offboarding, and maintaining accurate financial and personnel records. We are willing to train the right candidate who is organized, proactive, trustworthy, and eager to learn.
Accounting / Accounts
Payable Upload, review, and code invoices accurately Ensure invoices are assigned to correct accounts/classes/locations Prepare checks, ACH payments, and vendor payments Apply payments to appropriate accounts Maintain vendor files and records Retrieve invoices/statements from provider and vendor portals Reconcile discrepancies and follow up on missing documentation Support year-end requests such as 1099 preparation Payroll Process payroll accurately and on time Review timesheets, PTO, reimbursements, and deductions Maintain payroll records Coordinate employee changes with payroll systems/provider Respond to payroll-related questions HR Support Coordinate onboarding paperwork and new hire setup Assist with employee offboarding processes Maintain employee files and records Track PTO and personnel changes Support benefits enrollment and administrative updates Help ensure compliance with company policies and documentation Administrative Maintain confidentiality of employee and financial information Improve internal processes where possible Assist leadership with special projects as needed Required
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or related field
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles
  • Familiarity with QuickBooks or willingness to learn
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and responsibilities
  • Professional communication skills
