Job Description
Hargis and Associates LLC is seeking a detail-oriented, motivated Staff Accountant to join our CPA and consulting firm in Russellville, Kentucky. We work primarily with healthcare clients and are looking for someone who enjoys accurate financial work, problem-solving, and supporting clients with dependable accounting information. Position Summary This role is a strong fit for an accounting graduate, experienced bookkeeper, or current senior accounting major who is ready to grow in a professional services environment. The Staff Accountant will assist with client accounting, bookkeeping, reconciliations, financial statements, budgets, analytical reports, and other support needed to help clients maintain accurate and timely financial records. Key Responsibilities Prepare bank reconciliations and maintain accurate client accounting records. Assist with monthly and annual financial statements, budgets, and management reports. Perform bookkeeping and general ledger support, including reviewing transactions for accuracy. Analyze financial reports and help identify variances, trends, or items requiring follow-up. Communicate professionally with clients and team members to gather information and resolve questions. Maintain organized workpapers, documentation, and client files. Support additional accounting, reporting, and consulting tasks as assigned. Travel to client locations as needed. Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred; current senior accounting majors will also be considered. Prior accounting, bookkeeping, healthcare accounting, or CPA firm experience is a plus. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word required. Ability to read, understand, and analyze financial reports. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and follow-through. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a client-service environment. Professional communication skills and a willingness to learn. Compensation and Benefits Compensation will be based on skills and experience.
