Sr. Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Central, Louisiana. This Contract to permanent position offers the opportunity to contribute to municipal and organizational financial operations while working under the guidance of the Finance Director or Financial Services Manager. The role requires a detail-oriented individual capable of maintaining accurate financial records, supporting compliance efforts, and ensuring smooth accounting processes.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and execute month-end close procedures to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring all entries are properly documented.
• Create and post journal entries to support the accuracy of financial transactions.
• Conduct account reconciliations to verify balances and identify discrepancies.
• Perform bank reconciliations to ensure alignment between internal records and external statements.
• Support audits by providing necessary documentation and addressing inquiries.
• Assist with the administration of occupational licenses, ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends and provide insights for decision-making.
• Serve as a backup resource for various finance department functions, ensuring continuity in operations.
• Collaborate with team members to enhance accounting processes and maintain compliance with governmental accounting standards.
