Staff Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support a manufacturing organization in Monroe, Washington through a Contract assignment. This position plays a key role in day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger activity, period-end close support, tax reporting, and payroll processing for a small employee population. The ideal candidate brings solid accounting fundamentals, works well in an onsite team setting, and can adapt to a hands-on environment with shifting priorities.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain general ledger accuracy by preparing journal entries, reviewing account activity, and supporting routine reconciliations
• Assist with month-end close tasks, including accruals and other adjustments needed for timely financial reporting
• Prepare and file state sales and tax-related reports while helping ensure compliance with applicable deadlines
• Process payroll for approximately 40 employees with a strong focus on accuracy, timeliness, and confidentiality
• Support daily accounting operations for the finance team in an onsite manufacturing environment
• Use accounting and payroll systems such as Paylocity, Sage, and sales tax software to complete core financial tasks
• Contribute to accounting continuity during team coverage needs and help keep critical finance processes running smoothly
• Assist with responsibilities tied to ongoing accounting system changes and updated workflows as needed
