Job Description
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Shreveport, Louisiana. This role involves analyzing financial data, preparing accurate reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment while contributing to process improvements and maintaining high ethical standards.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review financial statements and reports in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Complete account reconciliations and ensure accuracy during month-end close processes.
- Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies, providing detailed feedback and solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support departmental goals and streamline workflows.
- Oversee and manage manual billing processes, ensuring timely and precise execution across various billing cycles.
- Analyze financial data for business units to identify trends and provide actionable insights.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives, including documentation updates and efficiency enhancements.
- Support the finance team in meeting tight deadlines and delivering high-quality work.
- Assist in training team members to ensure consistency and accuracy in financial procedures.
- Perform other accounting tasks as assigned by management. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is required.
- 2-5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
- Proficiency in advanced Microsoft Excel functions, including pivot tables and formulas.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate financial deliverables.
- Solid understanding of general ledger, journal entries, and account reconciliation processes.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for collaboration with team members.
- Familiarity with US accounting standards and practices.
