Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Spectrum Accounting Associate to join our finance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing various accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial standards such as GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act). You will handle data entry, account reconciliations, and financial reporting processes using a variety of accounting software systems. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your expertise in corporate and governmental accounting while supporting the organization's financial integrity and operational efficiency. Your proactive approach and strong analytical skills will contribute to maintaining accurate financial records and delivering exceptional service across departments. Duties Perform detailed account reconciliation including general ledger accounts, balance sheets, and subsidiary ledgers to ensure accuracy and completeness. Manage accounts payable and receivable processes using financial software such as Workday, Paychex, QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, ADP, Kronos, and UltiPro. Prepare journal entries for month-end closing activities while adhering to double-entry bookkeeping principles. Conduct thorough analysis of financial data through Excel data analysis techniques and spreadsheet management to support budgeting and forecasting efforts. Assist with audit preparations by maintaining organized documentation of financial transactions and supporting schedules in compliance with SOX controls. Handle confidential information with integrity while processing payroll data via systems like Kronos or UltiPro. Support internal teams by providing timely responses to inquiries related to accounts receivable management, accounts payable processing, or other financial concerns. Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting systems by identifying opportunities for automation or process enhancements using tools like Microsoft Office or specialized accounting software. Experience Proven experience in accounting or finance roles within a corporate or governmental setting demonstrating strong understanding of GAAP and financial concepts. Hands-on experience with popular financial software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, or similar platforms is highly preferred. Familiarity with SOX compliance procedures and internal controls is advantageous. Demonstrated ability in account reconciliation, journal entries, bookkeeping, and balance sheet management. Strong numeracy skills complemented by proficiency in Excel data analysis and spreadsheet management. Experience working with multiple accounting systems simultaneously to support diverse financial processes. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for handling large volumes of data entry and maintaining accurate records.
