Position Summary American Steel and Aluminum is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Accountant to join our Auburn, MA division. This role is ideal for a recent accounting graduate or early-career professional looking to build a strong foundation in corporate accounting within a dynamic manufacturing and distribution environment. The Entry-Level Accountant will support daily accounting operations, assist with financial reporting, maintain accurate financial records, and collaborate with various departments to ensure timely and accurate processing of accounting transactions. What You'll Do Foster a culture of safety awareness and safety prioritization. Ensure that quality standards are met, and champion quality ownership of the work center. Follow all company rules, policies, and procedures; communicate issues or concerns with division management and/or Corporate. Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions. Prepare and enter journal entries into the accounting system. Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and general ledger accounts. Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities. Support inventory accounting and related reconciliations. Review invoices, expense reports, and supporting documentation for accuracy. Maintain organized financial records and documentation. Assist in preparing financial statements and management reports. Support annual audits and other compliance-related activities. Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and vendor inquiries. Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance accounting efficiency. Perform any other tasks or duties as assigned by the division and/or corporate management team. Required Skills and Experience Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Internship or prior accounting experience. Experience with ERP or accounting software systems. Knowledge of inventory or manufacturing accounting principles. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
