We are seeking a talented Project Accountant to join our team of professionals and support the successful delivery of transformative design projects.
JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Project Accountant to support the Finance team and Project Managers by coordinating the financial management of our projects. Your expertise will help maintain the financial health of our projects while serving as a key liaison among project teams, clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced environment where your organizational skills and accounting knowledge will drive efficiency and accuracy. This role reports to the Controller.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Financial Coordination Project Accounting:
Manage project set up and monitor project budgets; Process monthly billing and revenue recognition; Track project costs, ensuring accuracy and compliance with contractual terms.
Accounts Receivable:
Monitor accounts receivable and follow up with clients on delinquent payments.
Accounts Payable:
Process consultant and overhead invoices weekly or as needed.
Internal Controls:
Ensure compliance with internal control procedures. Identify areas for improvement and recommend corrective actions where necessary.
Process Improvement:
Continuously seek ways to improve efficiency in accounting processes and financial reporting within the company.
General Ledger:
Prepare consultant accruals, journal entries, month-end duties, and balance sheet reconciliations. Support special projects and additional responsibilities as assigned by the Controller and leadership team to meet evolving business needs and organizational priorities. Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge and proven experience with Deltek Vision and/or Vantagepoint or a similar software is required Bachelor's degree in Accounting 5+ years of progressive experience supporting billing and accounting within architecture, engineering, or construction firms Effective communication skills for client, consultant, team interactions, internal and external collaboration Maintain a high level of emotional intelligence and professional maturity Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining high accuracy
