Job Description

Accounting/Finance - Senior Accountant#26-16219 Chelsea, MA Onsite Job Description II. Essential Functions
  • Performs and assists with month-end and quarter-end closing accounting tasks including preparation/input of journal entries ensuring compliance with US GAAP.
  • Ensures that reconciliations and supporting schedules and analysis are completed on a timely basis and in accordance with the monthly closing schedule.
  • Prepares and maintains month-end closing shared folders.
  • Preparation and assistance with month-end analytical review of actuals versus budget/forecast.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting.
  • Provides assistance with SOX compliance by ensuring internal controls are adhered to.
  • Provides assistance to Sr. Manager Financial Operations and Accounting on quarter-end inventory close and various analyses.
  • All other duties as assigned.
III.
Position Requirements Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
  • Minimum of four to six years of experience and solid understanding of GAAP.
Experience in public accounting preferred.
Knowledge/Skills Requirements:
  • Ability to manage a wide range of finance-related responsibilities with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and adherence to deadlines and timelines.
  • Proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to balance daily operations and project work in a fast-paced setting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, proficient in MS Office Suite, and experience with general ledger systems.
This position requires minimal travel; average travel for this position is 5% with some variation based upon the demands of the business imperatives. Travel is for inventory purposes.
