Robert Half Staff Accountant Franklin, MA Apply Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Franklin, Massachusetts. This is a contract position within the transport industry, offering an opportunity to contribute to key accounting functions and financial reporting activities. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of accounting principles.
Responsibilities:
- Manage month-end closing procedures, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial statements.
- Perform reconciliations of accounts, including bank statements and general ledger accounts.
- Prepare and review corporate tax returns, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
- Handle sales tax calculations and filings, maintaining accurate records.
- Create and post journal entries to support financial reporting processes.
- Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded.
- Assist in analyzing financial data and preparing reports to support decision-making.
- Collaborate with team members on accounting projects and process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with tax laws and accounting standards in all financial activities. Requirements
- Proven experience in corporate tax preparation and compliance.
- Strong knowledge of sales tax regulations and filing processes.
- Proficiency in creating and posting journal entries.
- Solid understanding of general ledger maintenance and account reconciliation.
- Familiarity with corporate tax return procedures.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred.
