Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic finance team as an Assistant Accountant, where your enthusiasm for numbers and passion for accuracy will drive our financial operations forward. This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop your expertise in accounting processes, support financial reporting, and contribute to the overall health of our organization's financial landscape. You'll be essential in maintaining precise records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting various financial functions with energy and precision. Duties Assist in preparing and reviewing journal entries, ensuring accuracy in debits and credits across the general ledger. Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis. Manage accounts payable and receivable functions, processing invoices, payments, and collections efficiently. Maintain and update financial data using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or ProSeries; ensure data entry is accurate and timely. Conduct account reconciliations to verify the integrity of financial information and resolve discrepancies promptly. Support compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other accounting standards. Assist with attest engagements including compilations, reviews, and audits. Perform data entry tasks with a focus on double-entry bookkeeping accuracy; handle sensitive financial information with confidentiality. Qualifications Proven experience working with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, ProSeries or similar platforms. Strong understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, general ledger reconciliation, and account analysis. Knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) accounting standards is highly desirable. Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy; proficiency in 10-key typing is preferred. Ability to perform account reconciliation accurately while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong analytical skills combined with a solid foundation in math and financial acumen to interpret complex data effectively.
