Job Description
Robert Half Staff Accountant Norfolk, MA Apply Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis. In this role, you will contribute to key accounting functions, including tax preparation, journal entries, and general ledger maintenance. This position is based in Norfolk, Massachusetts, and offers an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic services environment.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review corporate tax returns to ensure compliance with all regulations.
- Manage sales tax filings and address related inquiries.
- Record and reconcile journal entries to maintain accurate financial records.
- Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all entries are correct and complete.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to support decision-making.
- Collaborate with team members to improve accounting processes and systems.
- Ensure adherence to accounting standards and company policies.
- Support audits by providing necessary documentation and information.
- Stay updated on changes in tax laws and accounting regulations. Requirements
- Proven experience in corporate tax preparation and filing.
- Strong knowledge of sales tax regulations and procedures.
- Proficiency in managing corporate tax returns and related documentation.
- Expertise in recording journal entries and maintaining the general ledger.
- Familiarity with accounting software and tools.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
