About The Role We're looking for a detail-oriented Accounting & Finance Intern to join our team in the Somerville office. This role will primarily focus on supporting the Finance team with accounting operations, financial data clean-up, expense organization, payroll-related tracking, and maintaining accurate internal records across different systems. This is a hands-on opportunity to gain exposure to how accounting and finance operations work inside a fast-growing startup environment. We're looking for someone who is organized, reliable, comfortable working with spreadsheets and structured data, and enjoys bringing order to operational processes.

You will:

Support financial data clean-up and maintain organized accounting records across internal systems Help track, organize, and review expenses, invoices, receipts, and payroll-related documentation Assist with maintaining accurate financial documentation and operational records Review financial data for inconsistencies, missing information, or formatting issues Support reconciliation and monthly finance operational processes Assist with billing workflows and payment tracking Help improve and maintain organized accounting and finance workflows as the company scales Work closely with the Finance team on operational and administrative accounting tasks Support ad hoc accounting, reporting, and finance projects when needed What (we think) you need to be successful

Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field Understanding of accounting principles Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Comfortable working with numbers, spreadsheets, and financial data Reliable, proactive, and willing to learn in a fast-paced environment Strong sense of ownership and accountability for your work Clear communicator with a collaborative mindset Familiarity with Excel or Google Sheets Excited to gain hands-on experience in accounting within a high-growth startup environment Onsite in our Somerville office 4 days a week What We Value At Topsort, we seek professionals who embody the following qualities to drive our mission forward: Deep dive into details : Professionals who are not content with superficial answers and dive deeply into the details to uncover root causes and optimal solutions.
