Permanent Position Overview A well-established manufacturing company in Baltimore is seeking an experienced Senior Cost Accountant to join its on-site finance team. This role will be responsible for overseeing cost accounting functions, supporting manufacturing operations, and providing detailed financial analysis to drive operational efficiency and informed decision-making. Key Responsibilities Maintain and analyze standard and actual manufacturing costs , including labor, materials, and overhead Prepare and review cost of goods sold (COGS) and manufacturing variance analysis Support month-end close activities related to inventory and cost accounting, including journal entries and reconciliations Partner with operations and production teams to understand cost drivers and improve margins Oversee inventory accounting, including cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory adjustments Analyze cost trends and recommend improvements to pricing and production efficiency Support budgeting and forecasting processes related to manufacturing costs Ensure accurate product costing and bill of materials (BOM) setup Assist with audits and ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies Continuously improve cost accounting processes and internal controls Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance 5+ years of cost accounting experience within a manufacturing environment (required) Strong understanding of standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory accounting Experience working closely with manufacturing and operations teams Advanced Excel skills ERP or manufacturing accounting system experience Ability and willingness to work fully on-site in Baltimore All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, national origin, age, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, disability, medical condition, genetic information, pregnancy, or military or veteran status.
