Job Description
Cherry Bekaert Recruiting is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Property Accountant . This role will play a key part in supporting the financial operations of a portfolio of properties and ensuring accuracy and compliance in all accounting functions. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in property accounting and experience working with Yardi or similar ERP systems. Key Responsibilities Perform general ledger reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial data Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Conduct bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies Support CAM (Common Area Maintenance) reconciliations and compliance Analyze financial results and provide variance analysis Assist with budget preparation and forecasting Review and perform lease abstraction Help resolve accounts payable discrepancies in a timely manner Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure financial accuracy and reporting compliance Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required) 3+ years of property accounting experience Experience with Yardi strongly preferred Experience with MRI, Rent Manager, or similar ERP systems will also be considered Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines IND4
