Full Job Description Job Summary:
The Senior Accountant will prepare, maintain and review tax work papers, tax returns, financial packages and assist with partnership reporting. This role will support and assist the Accounting Department, Finance, Regional Offices and other internal departments with requests/questions. The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to: Assist with maintaining tax work papers including fixed asset, commission and financing schedules. Review and analyze documentation for accuracy by corresponding with departments and tax preparers to gather information necessary for the substantiation process. Ensure the accuracy of tax returns by comparing to internal accounting records and confirming all assets, liabilities, and capital accounts are recorded and reconciled. Research new and existing tax regulations / laws for the impact on the business (partnership, real estate, individuals, etc.). Assist with regulatory filings and payments. Assist with the preparation of partnership and regional office packages including financial statements, budget variance analysis, project status reporting and cash flow / occupancy projections. Review partnership accounting to ensure compliance with operating agreements and / or other governing documents. Prepare monthly sources and uses to assist management to determine cash flow needs and risk-based analysis.
Monitor / Forecast
capital expenditure reserves and identify any needs based on current and future projects. Prepare monthly construction loan draw requests and work with outside lenders on funding and questions. Prepare monthly reporting of development and construction progress reports for regional offices. Assist with monthly general ledger corrections to ensure accuracy.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting (CPA is not required but is beneficial). A working to an advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Products, especially Excel. Strong organization, problem solving and strong numeracy and analytical skills. Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to function well in a team-oriented environment. Able to interact with and support other departments and other offices. Regular attendance onsite is an essential function of the job.
