Job Description:
Advanced Window, Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our Accounting team. This position will play a key role in the company's financial close, reporting, analysis, and general accounting activities while working closely with the Controller and other members of the Accounting team. The ideal candidate will have previous accounting experience within the construction industry and a strong foundation in general ledger accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end close.
What You'll Do:
Lead and execute monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close activities in coordination with the Controller. Prepare and post journal entries for complex transactions, accruals, reallocations, and other accounting activities. Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger and financial accounting records. Prepare and review account reconciliations, working papers, supporting schedules, and close documentation. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements and supporting schedules. Review journal entries and accounting work prepared by other team members. Maintain the corporate chart of accounts and support financial system reporting. Coordinate with Project Accounting to ensure project financial results are accurately reflected in company reporting. Prepare sales tax filings and assist with other financial compliance and statutory reporting requirements. Review bank reconciliations and investigate unusual or reconciling items. Prepare cash balance reports and short-term cash forecasts for the Controller. Support annual budgeting, periodic forecasting, variance analysis, and financial performance reporting. Prepare financial analyses and reports for the Controller, CFO, senior management, auditors, and other stakeholders. Coordinate audit working papers and supporting documentation and assist with internal and external audit requests. Support the development and ongoing monitoring of internal controls over financial reporting. Assist with the interpretation and implementation of company accounting policies and applicable accounting standards, including GAAP and IFRS. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, systems, and reporting practices. Participate in accounting system enhancements, reporting initiatives, and special projects. Provide technical accounting guidance and informal mentorship to other Accounting team members. Collaborate with Project Accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and other departments to support timely and accurate financial reporting.
What We're Looking For:
Construction industry accounting experience strongly preferred. Bachelor's degree in Accounting required. 3+ years of progressive accounting or financial reporting experience. Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, accruals, reconciliations, financial reporting, and internal controls. Experience supporting month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Hands-on experience with ERP or financial management systems. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities and consistently meet deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across departments. Construction industry experience preferred. CPA or equivalent professional designation preferred. Why Join Advanced Window?
