An Accountant organizes and maintains financial records and prepares financial statements for companies and organizations. Works as a public accountant (prepares financial documents where public disclosure is required by law, such as business balance sheets and tax returns), management accountant (prepares financial information for internal use by a company) or government accountant (maintains records for government agencies).
Assists and supports the day-to-day financial activities of our for-profit entities. Participates in monthly close process from journal entries to completed financial statements. Prepares various month end schedules for upper management.
Responsibilities :
Performs the day-to-day activities of the organizational entities. Analyzes and reconciles selected general ledger accounts on a monthly basis. Prepares worksheets and schedules; recommends and makes necessary adjustments. Maintains all records, files and ledgers related to specific area of responsibility. Assists in the preparation of financial reports on a recurring and ad hoc basis. Prepares periodic financial statements through preparation of journal entries and account analyses. Assists with the annual audit by providing various schedules and analyses. Assists in the preparation of annual tax reporting requirement needs.
Qualifications:
1-3 years of accounting experience, Excel experience strongly preferred Bachelor's degree required, Accounting or Finance degree preferred
