Are you an accounting professional who enjoys working with numbers, solving problems, and supporting a variety of clients? Our Client Accounting Advisory Services (CAS) team is looking for a Staff Accountant who is eager to build their accounting experience while helping clients manage and better understand their financial operations. Snyder Cohn is a 100-year-old CPA and business advisory firm located in North Bethesda, Maryland. Our CAS team works with a diverse client base that includes nonprofit organizations, start-ups, and small to mid-sized businesses, as well as organizations with revenues in the hundreds of millions. Because every client is different, this role offers plenty of variety and the opportunity to gain exposure to different industries, accounting systems, and business needs. What You'll Do As a Staff Accountant on our CAS team, you'll work alongside experienced professionals to provide day-to-day accounting support and help ensure our clients have accurate, timely financial information.
Responsibilities may include:
Maintaining general ledgers and recording journal entries Preparing and reviewing account reconciliations Supporting monthly and year-end close processes Working with balance sheets, income statements, trial balances, and charts of accounts Supporting both cash and accrual basis accounting Assisting with payroll processing and quarterly and annual payroll tax filings Identifying discrepancies and helping resolve accounting issues Communicating with clients and team members to gather information and keep work moving Taking on increasingly complex responsibilities as your experience grows What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who has a strong accounting foundation, takes pride in accurate work, and is interested in continuing to learn and grow. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field One or more years of accounting experience preferred Understanding of fundamental accounting concepts and financial statements Experience with or exposure to payroll processing and payroll tax filings QuickBooks proficiency preferred Strong Excel skills Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines Willingness to learn, ask questions, and take on new challenges Salary $64,000 - $71,000 (includes approximately 8% additional compensation for hours worked in excess of 40 in a regular workweek). The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Snyder Cohn considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
