Job Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Sr. Accountant to join a growing organization in Sparks, Maryland on a Contract basis. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, solid reporting skills, and the ability to explain financial information clearly to colleagues across the organization.
Core ResponsibilitiesAnalyze financial results and performance trends through the development of key performance indicators (KPIs), with comparisons to market and industry benchmarks.
Prepare and maintain a variety of financial models, customized reports, and other ad hoc analyses to support business needs and decision-making.
Complete monthly journal entries along with all necessary backup documentation, while also reviewing related schedules for accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
Perform reconciliations for balance sheet and income statement accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
Present financial data, accounting policies, and procedural guidance in a clear and understandable way for leaders outside of finance.
Provide hands-on support across the department as needed, including administrative and operational tasks such as invoice filing, inventory assistance, and document conversion.
