As a contract employee of Sterling Engineering, you'll receive a comprehensive benefits package, including: Paid Time Off & Paid Holidays Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance Retirement Plan Sterling Engineering is hiring a Cost Accountant for a growing manufacturing organization seeking an analytical accounting professional to support plant operations and financial reporting. This role offers a great opportunity to partner directly with operations leadership while owning key aspects of cost accounting, financial analysis, and month-end close activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare journal entries for month-end close activities in accordance with US GAAP Perform general ledger account analysis and balance sheet reconciliations using BlackLine Support month-end financial closing processes Analyze manufacturing costs, sales performance, and profit margins Manage and maintain the standard cost accounting system Process monthly accruals and reconcile month-end financial transactions Partner with operations leadership to analyze manufacturing performance and cost trends Ensure compliance with Corporate Accounting Policies and internal controls Adhere to SOX compliance requirements and maintain audit-ready documentation
Qualifications:
Must have 3-5+ years of experience in cost accounting Strong understanding of US GAAP and general accounting principles Experience with month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting Knowledge of standard costing methodologies and manufacturing accounting practices Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or veteran status.
