White Marsh, MD Job Details $60,000 - $75,000 a year 17 hours ago Qualifications Spreadsheets Productivity software Full Job Description The Grant Accountant at Celebree School is primarily responsible for overseeing the financial compliance and execution of the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) Prekindergarten Expansion Grant. This role will manage the financial lifecycle of awarded funds, ensuring regulatory compliance and accurate tracking. We are seeking a highly motivated individual, with grant and/or government accounting knowledge, who can act as a liaison between grant program managers and the internal support center. Key Responsibilities Ensure all expenditures are allowable, allocable, and align with the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) Prekindergarten Expansion Grant guidelines and GAAP. Track and monitor grant expenditures against established budgets. Prepare labor distribution and payroll allocation adjustments. Reconcile grant related accounts on a monthly basis. Monitor grant obligations to prevent overspending or underspending. Prepare and submit timely reimbursement requests, invoices and financial reports to the grantor. Perform grant close-out procedures, finalizing all financial reports to satisfy grant performance measures. Compile audit schedules, maintain detailed supporting documentation and assist auditors. Collaborate directly with program directors and internal support center. Any other responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in accounting
Experience:
3-5 years of grant/government accounting experience
Background:
Strong knowledge of grant or government accounting
Skills:
Strong understanding of GAAP NetSuite Grant Management experience is a plus Exceptional analytical skills and proficiency in financial reporting systems. Proficiency with MS Office products, particularly Excel, is required. Excellent written and verbal skills with the ability to communicate financial data to non-financial colleagues.
