Sr. Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support key accounting operations for a manufacturing organization in Kent, Washington. This is a Contract position focused on maintaining accurate financial records, overseeing close activities, and ensuring balance sheet and cash accounts are properly reconciled. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to manage core reporting responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Lead monthly close activities by preparing schedules, reviewing account activity, and helping ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Record and post journal entries that reflect routine and adjusting transactions in alignment with accounting standards and internal policies.
• Maintain the general ledger by monitoring account balances, researching discrepancies, and supporting the integrity of financial data.
• Complete account reconciliations on a recurring basis, resolving variances and documenting findings with a high level of accuracy.
• Perform bank reconciliations by comparing cash activity to financial records and investigating unmatched items promptly.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to gather supporting documentation and clarify accounting activity affecting monthly results.
• Assist with identifying process gaps within accounting workflows and recommend practical improvements to strengthen efficiency and accuracy.
