full-time Staff Accountant Direct-Hire Position Overview Our client is looking for a Staff Accountant to become part of their Finance team. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional to gain practical, hands-on experience within a fast-paced manufacturing organization. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with various departments across the company while gaining exposure to and support from an experienced team of finance professionals. Key Responsibilities Assist with the month-end financial close by preparing journal entries, completing account reconciliations, investigating discrepancies, and helping resolve account variances. Maintain and reconcile inventory and work-in-process (WIP) records to support accurate financial reporting. Process payroll and prepare associated payroll reports and documentation. Work closely with project managers to assist with new project setup and provide basic financial monitoring and tracking. Provide support for audit preparation, including gathering information and assisting with financial reporting requirements. Contribute to efforts designed to improve accounting processes, enhance systems, and increase operational efficiency. Assist with special projects and other accounting-related assignments as needed. Gain additional exposure to accounts payable and accounts receivable functions. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting. One to three years of professional accounting experience, preferably within a mid-sized organization. Fundamental understanding of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Previous experience processing payroll. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to utilize formulas and pivot tables. Prior experience working with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system is preferred. Previous exposure to accounting within a manufacturing environment is beneficial, but not required. Strong organizational abilities with effective analytical and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated interest in continued professional development and career growth.
