Staff Accountant |Allegan, MI Salary Range:
$54,000 - $84,000 depending on experience Are you a skilled professional with a passion for excelling in staff accountant? We are collaborating with companies in Allegan seeking experienced Staff Accountants. If there is alignment now or in the near future, we reach out. The Opportunity We partner with manufacturers across Allegan seeking Staff Accountants who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit. Key Responsibilities Reconcile general ledger accounts, including bank statements and various balance sheet accounts. Prepare and post journal entries for month-end close, accruals, and reclassifications. Assist with the preparation of financial statements and management reports. Analyze manufacturing costs, variances, and inventory valuation. Process accounts payable invoices and ensure timely vendor payments. Support the annual audit process by providing requested documentation and explanations. Maintain fixed asset records and calculate depreciation. Recommended Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 2+ years of experience in accounting, preferably within a manufacturing environment Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel Foundational understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Experience with inventory costing methods and reconciliation Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Bonus Qualifications Experience with an ERP system like SAP or Oracle. Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., advanced Excel, Power BI, Tableau). Familiarity with Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing principles. CPA candidate or actively pursuing certification. Experience with inventory costing methods (e.g., standard costing, FIFO, LIFO).
