SUMMARY The Office Professional 4 position (OP4) is responsible for payroll, accounts payable and financial reporting for the District. This position requires a high level of accuracy, technical skills, and customer service. This position also requires strong problem-solving skills, follow-up, and attention to detail.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Demonstrates a strong commitment to equity, social justice, and inclusion in all practices and position responsibilities. Engages in reflection and ongoing learning and development on critical concepts and terms identified in the Washtenaw ISD Educational Equity Policy including concepts such as cultural proficiency, racial equity, and systemic and structural inequities. Processes accounts payable for the District and external customers. Processes payroll for external customer(s) and WISD as necessary. Monitors account usage for accuracy and overages as invoices are reviewed and AP checks are processed. Processes purchase orders, invoices and payment authorizations. Creates purchase orders as necessary. Uploads payroll files to ORS and reconciles all differences for external customers and the District as necessary. Processes payroll liability and tax payments for external customers and the District as necessary. Prepares quarterly payroll reports and submits to IRS and State of Michigan for external customers and District as necessary. Responsible for month, quarter and year end closing activities, including various payroll and financial reports for external customer(s) and WISD as necessary. Works with staff to troubleshoot AP processing issues related to PO's, invoices etc. Assists in monitoring Amazon Business account for invoice processing. Reports open miscellaneous billings within the District to the relevant departments to ensure timely payment is made by customers. Works with Vendors to ensure processing of open invoices is made timely. Prepares bank deposits. Maintains payroll and vendor records. Maintains current files, and storage of past files. Answers telephone/inquiries for the Business Department. Maintains and secures confidential records/inquiries appropriately. Maintains regular predictable attendance. Associates Degree in Accounting, Business or equivalent formal training. Payroll preparation experience. Data entry experience. Experience using Windows operating system. Must pass general secretarial skills test.PREFERRED
Michigan School Business Officials Payroll Certification Program. Accounts payable preparation experience. Accounting and bookkeeping knowledge/experience. Knowledge and experience using New World Systems . Microsoft Excel and Word training and usage. Extensive experience working with Microsoft Excel and Word. Experience using business math. Experience handling confidential personal data. Experience dealing with governmental, state and federal agencies.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Michigan School Business Officials Payroll Certification - Preferred.LANGUAGE SKILLS
