Job Description

Job Overview An established nonprofit organization in Battle Creek, Michigan is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Accountant to oversee key financial and accounting functions. This position is ideal for someone with nonprofit accounting experience who is comfortable managing day-to-day accounting responsibilities while preparing accurate financial information for organizational leadership and the Board of Directors. Responsibilities Prepare financial reports for the Board of Directors, including balance sheets and income statements Complete month-end closing processes Perform bank and accounts receivable reconciliations Manage vendor bills and credit card transactions in QuickBooks Process payroll accurately and on schedule Manage customer billing and accounts receivable functions Prepare year-end donor reporting Prepare and process annual 1099s Maintain accurate and organized financial records Support organizational leadership with financial information and reporting as needed Qualifications Previous nonprofit accounting experience strongly preferred Experience with month-end close and account reconciliations Proficiency with QuickBooks Experience processing payroll Experience preparing balance sheets, income statements, and other financial reports Familiarity with donor-related financial reporting and nonprofit accounting practices Experience preparing 1099s and other year-end reporting Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Ability to handle confidential financial and employee information with discretion Strong organizational and time-management skills Ability to work independently and manage recurring deadlines We are an established nonprofit organization serving the Battle Creek community. Pay:
$58,878.27 - $70,907.17 per year
