Lincoln Accounting is committed to helping businesses achieve financial stability and growth through accurate reporting and proactive advice. Role Description The Tax Accountant is a part-time, on-site role based in Sterling Heights, MI. This position is responsible for preparing individual and business tax returns, ensuring accurate calculations and timely filings in line with current tax laws. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing financial records, reconciling accounts, supporting tax planning activities, and maintaining organized documentation for audits and compliance. The Tax Accountant will collaborate with other team members to analyze financial statements, identify tax-saving opportunities, and communicate findings clearly to clients. The role also involves responding to client inquiries, monitoring regulatory changes, and contributing to process improvements within the firm. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong skills in Tax Preparation and Tax, with the ability to accurately prepare and review a variety of returns. Candidates should possess expertise in Tax Compliance, including knowledge of relevant federal, state, and local regulations. Candidates should possess solid Accounting and Financial Statements skills, including general ledger work and interpreting financial reports. Relevant experience in public accounting or tax advisory is preferred, particularly with small and mid-sized businesses. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or EA certification is a plus. Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines. Proficient in tax and accounting software: Drake Desktop, Drake Online, QuickBooks as well as Microsoft Excel and other office applications. Effective written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in an on-site team environment.
