ACCOUNTANT II SALARY
:

$65,244 per year •Position will typically hire at minimum pay and follow a step progression to maximum•
CLASS SUMMARY
This position is responsible for providing advanced accounting support to assigned departments. Responsibilities may include preparing budgets; preparing complex financial reports; and reconciling accounts.
TYPICAL CLASS ESSENTIAL DUTIES
: (See online job posting for complete specs) Prepares budgets, including: performing analyses and projections to assemble the three-year budget; reviewing and assembling budget requests; and performing related tasks. Prepares the Comprehensive Annual and other financial reports, including: producing balance sheets, cash-flow statements, and other documents for inclusion in reports; preparing capital assets and related notes as required; adjusting journal entries; reviewing report information for accuracy; and performing related tasks. Reconciles accounts to the general ledger; identifies, analyzes, and resolves issues related to accounts. May recommend investment of city funds in accordance with investment policies. Performs related accounting tasks, including: performing month end closures; participating in audits; assisting departments in performing standard accounting functions; and reviewing department purchases to ensure proper maintenance of budgets. Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance, including attendance at required meetings. TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
: Bachelor's degree in accounting and 2 years of related experience; or, Associate's degree and 3 years of related experience; or, all required certification(s) and 3 years of related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
