JOB SUMMARY
The senior accountant position is responsible for providing advanced accounting support to the organization, including but not limited to preparing and posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, month-end and year-end closing activities, and adherence to internal controls. This position manages complex and confidential company financial records and operates with significant discretion and autonomy.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Participate in the monthly close process; accurate and timely preparation and posting of journal entries. Reconcile costs incurred for publicly ticketed and private events. Compile, review, record and prepare billing requests. Analyze and reconcile various general ledger accounts to maintain accuracy and integrity of financial records. Preparation of schedules to support budget and month-end processes Provide clean and timely year-end files to the tax department Execute in accordance with corporate accounting policies and procedures and recommend new ideas or changes to current policies and procedures, as needed. Manage and lead special projects. Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Bachelor's degree in accounting. Minimum of five (5) years related experience (equivalent experience or training that provides the necessary skills and knowledge to do the job). Possess the highest integrity and ethical standards including the handling of confidential and sensitive information Evidence of highly developed verbal, written, and presentation communication skills. Excellent problem-solving, analytical ability, and attention to detail. Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously with the ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing priorities. Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment with all levels of colleagues Working knowledge of accounting principles to ensure financial results are in conformity with Generally Acceptable Account Principles. Moderate Excel skills, which may include the creation of macros, pivot tables, etc. Preferred Knowledge, skills and abilities: Experience with Oracle cloud. Experience with Workday HRIS.
