Job Description
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in core accounting functions who can help maintain accurate financial records and contribute to a well-organized month-end process. The position offers the opportunity to work across payables, receivables, and general ledger activities while partnering with internal teams to keep financial data reliable and up to date.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and record journal entries to ensure financial transactions are captured accurately and on time.
- Maintain the general ledger by reviewing account activity, researching discrepancies, and supporting account reconciliations.
- Process accounts payable transactions, verify supporting documentation, and help ensure timely vendor payments.
- Manage accounts receivable activities, including invoicing support, payment tracking, and follow-up on outstanding balances.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close tasks by organizing financial data and confirming account accuracy.
- Review accounting records for completeness and consistency, escalating issues when corrections are needed.
- Collaborate with internal departments to gather financial information and resolve routine accounting questions.
- Support process updates or system-related accounting tasks as needed while preserving accurate reporting and documentation. Requirements
- At least 1 year of accounting experience in a staff accountant or similar position.
- Working knowledge of journal entries, general ledger maintenance, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Ability to organize detailed financial information with a high level of accuracy.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and routine close activities.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency with accounting software and standard business applications such as spreadsheets.
- Capacity to manage multiple priorities and meet recurring deadlines in a detail-focused environment.
