Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff or Senior Accountant to join a team in Monmouth County, New Jersey. This position is well suited for someone who enjoys bringing structure to complex financial records, investigating discrepancies, and strengthening day-to-day accounting accuracy. The role offers an opportunity to contribute immediately by supporting core accounting activities, improving reporting reliability, and helping the team operate more efficiently in a changing environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Reconcile a wide range of balance sheet accounts and ensure supporting documentation is accurate, complete, and current.
  • Investigate mismatched figures, unresolved items, and historical accounting issues to determine root causes and recommend corrections.
  • Prepare, review, and record journal entries related to adjustments, clean-up work, and ongoing general ledger activity.
  • Examine large sets of financial information to identify unusual trends, inconsistencies, and reporting gaps that require follow-up.
  • Provide accounting support tied to organizational process changes, including activities related to ERP transition efforts and updated workflows.
  • Use advanced Excel tools to organize, analyze, and reconcile financial data from multiple sources.
  • Work closely with accounting and finance partners to improve the quality of reconciliations, reporting accuracy, and internal accountability.
  • Communicate reconciliation results, accounting logic, and key findings clearly to team members and stakeholders.
  • Assist with daily and month-end accounting needs while helping stabilize operations during a period of transition and process improvement.
