Construction Accountant

We are seeking a talented Construction Accountant who has experience performing Accounting/Financial Reporting functions in the residential construction industry. Strong communication skills, excellent attendance, analytical thinking, high attention to detail and good work ethic are essential in this position. Preferred Skills 5+ years of experience in Construction Accounting/Financial Reporting Job Cost accounting experience General Ledger accounting experience Experience processing, completing and reporting construction loan draws HIGHLY desired Associate's or Bachelor's degree with emphasis in accounting Previous experience working in construction, real estate development and/or property management accounting Who we are looking for: Self-directed in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing priorities Capable of working independently with a high attention to detail in a complex environment Able to set goals and complete assigned tasks accurately, timely and consistently Superior reasoning, analytical and mathematical skills Able to adapt to new concepts quickly Excellent verbal and written communication skills Comfortable communicating with clients, vendors, and coworkers Commitment to continuous improvement

Responsibilities:

Preparing monthly construction draws A/P/AR Handle accounting duties for various financial entities Journal entries, GL and bank account reconciliations Perform accounting for residential development project, including both horizontal (site development) and vertical (home construction) activities across multiple related entities Review expenses at month end to ensure accurate coding and report on budget vs. actual performance
