Job Description

Paragon Laboratories, Inc. is looking for a dedicated and motivated Accountant to join our team.
OUR COMPANY
For over 25 years, Paragon has been a local provider of chemical, physical, and biological laboratory testing services to customers across three primary markets: Environmental; Petroleum; and Chemical. www.paragonlaboratories.com THE JOB As an Accountant on our team, you will spend your days accurately recording, organizing, and maintaining all financial transactions for Paragon Laboratories, Inc. and Paragon Field Services LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary. The accountant is responsible for managing all aspects of small business accounting while advising and communicating with Senior Leadership and Ownership. Daily work includes general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, AP/AR, reporting, and supporting day-to-day accounting operations in a fast paced, quality-focused environment. In joining our company, you will be providing a critical service in support of our 600+ customers in the metro and tri-state areas . Our Accountant works Monday through Friday; 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Accounts receivable, accounts payable, and cash management Resolution of payable and receivable issues; including collections as needed Maintain client, vendor and bank relationships Prepare, review, and post journal entries Reconcile and balance accounts Audit preparation and participation, including the resolution of issues 1099 Preparation and Processing Payroll processing and related accounting Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate records and financial data Preparation of local/state sales, use and property taxes Purchasing Asset Management Monthly bank reconciliations Complete month-end close and review of financial statements Provide information and documents to CPA for yearly tax filing Other duties, as assigned
MUST HAVE
Must have a college degree (Bachelor's or above) in Accounting or Finance Must have 4+ years of full charge bookkeeper/staff accountant experience Strong Microsoft Office Skills, including advanced Excel skills Sage 50 experience preferred High degree of proficiency in month-end/year-end closing Skilled in reconciliations Strong GAAP knowledge Detailed oriented and highly organized Ability to multi-task Strong analytical/quantitative skills Excellent verbal and written communications
