Job Title:
General Ledger Accountant Job Description Join our fast-paced environment, where you will engage with various types of businesses. As a General Ledger Accountant, you will be responsible for preparing and posting journal entries, handling payroll, and managing bank transactions. You will perform monthly account reconciliations, resolve discrepancies, and assist with month-end and year-end closing processes. Additionally, you will maintain and reconcile general ledger financial reports and supporting schedules, support audits by providing documentation and explanations to auditors, and ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements. You will also assist with budgeting and financial analysis activities while identifying opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiency within accounting operations. Responsibilities Prepare and post journal entries, payroll, and bank transactions. Perform monthly account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies. Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes. Maintain and reconcile general ledger financial reports and supporting schedules. Support audits by providing documentation and explanations to auditors. Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements. Assist with budgeting and financial analysis activities. Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiency within accounting operations. Essential Skills Proficiency in Excel, including spreadsheets, pivot tables, andVLOOKUPS.
Experience with reconciliations and general ledger management. Ability to post payroll entries. Familiarity with working in an automotive or fast-paced environment. Experience with handling a high volume of invoices, SAP, and bank transactions. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with SAP is preferred. An associate's or bachelor's degree is preferred. Work Environment The role is situated in a cubicle layout within a large space, allowing for close collaboration with team members. Flexible start times are offered, allowing you to begin your day anytime between 7 and 9 AM. You will also be eligible for a food stipend of $6 per day at the cafeteria. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Novi, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00- $30.
