Job Description:

A great UHY client is seeking a Sr. Accountant to support accounting and financial analysis activities within a collaborative, mission-driven nonprofit organization. This role offers a unique blend of accounting, reporting, and finance responsibilities while providing strong exposure across the organization and opportunities for long-term growth and development. The Sr. Accountant role is a hybrid position based in Detroit, MI, requiring approximately three days per week onsite. This is a permanent, direct-hire opportunity with a highly collaborative team environment and the opportunity to contribute to an organization making a significant impact throughout the community. Sr. Accountant Responsibilities Support day-to-day accounting and financial reporting activities Assist with financial analysis, reporting, and spreadsheet preparation Prepare and maintain reconciliations and supporting schedules Run and analyze financial and operational reports Assist with month-end close and related accounting processes Support budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc analysis activities Work with large data sets and maintain detailed financial records Collaborate cross-functionally within a highly team-oriented environment Support process improvements and reporting enhancements as needed Sr. Accountant Requirements 3-5 years of accounting experience required Strong Excel and spreadsheet management skills required Exposure to financial analysis and reporting preferred Strong attention to detail and analytical abilities Ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative environment Strong communication and organizational skills Nonprofit accounting experience is a plus but not required Ability to thrive in a mission-driven, team-oriented culture UHY Advisors' Resource Solutions Group provides clients with accomplished professionals to support finance, accounting, internal audit and tax teams.
