Job Description

Description We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to join a manufacturing organization in Maple Grove, Minnesota. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented finance specialist who brings strong technical accounting knowledge, sound judgment, and a disciplined approach to financial reporting. The successful candidate will help ensure accurate results, strengthen controls, and collaborate with partners across the business to improve accounting processes and support operational goals.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide accounting guidance by evaluating technical matters, supporting policy application, and helping implement and monitor appropriate financial practices.
  • Prepare and review financial data through journal entries, general ledger activity, reconciliations, and reporting to support timely and accurate close processes.
  • Lead analysis of complex accounting areas such as revenue recognition, inventory, and capital assets while coordinating with cross-functional teams to maintain reliable reporting.
  • Identify financial and operational risks, assess potential impact, and recommend practical actions to reduce exposure and improve compliance.
  • Drive process enhancements by standardizing accounting activities across multiple entities and using available systems to improve efficiency and consistency.
  • Produce balance sheet reporting packages with clear explanations of account activity, trends, and notable variances for finance leadership.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and global teams to resolve accounting issues, align reporting expectations, and meet established service commitments.
  • Maintain a strong internal control environment by supporting documentation, testing activities, and audit readiness for both internal and external reviews. Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Demonstrated background in technical accounting and the ability to interpret and apply accounting guidance effectively.
  • Hands-on experience with month-end close activities, journal entries, general ledger management, accruals, and account reconciliations.
  • Working knowledge of revenue accounting principles, including ASC 606, along with exposure to inventory and fixed asset accounting.
  • Strong attention to detail, a high level of integrity, and the ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
