Job Description

We are looking for an Accountant to support a variety of municipal finance activities in New Prague, Minnesota. This position plays an important role in keeping financial operations organized, accurate, and compliant across a multi-fund environment. The ideal candidate will contribute to daily accounting functions, assist with reporting and audit needs, and help maintain dependable financial records that support public-sector operations.
Responsibilities:
  • Administer payroll processing and maintain supporting records to ensure timely and accurate compensation activities.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing financial transactions by reviewing, recording, and reconciling accounts payable and accounts receivable activity.
  • Monitor budget-related data and assist with financial tracking, reporting, and analysis for departments or funds.
  • Compile schedules, records, and supporting documentation for audits and other financial examinations.
  • Maintain detailed accounting records across multiple funds, accounts, and operational areas with a high level of accuracy.
  • Verify that accounting entries and financial processes align with established policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Contribute to routine accounting operations, including journal entries, general ledger updates, and bank reconciliations.
  • Use accounting software, spreadsheets, and office applications to organize financial data and produce reports.
  • Provide support for special assignments and finance-related projects as needed.
